So today I’m gonna tell you what exactlymy diet comprises of and what I eatSo, hope you guys get some motivationout of it and, umm. . chew your foodThe first thing I do as soon as I wake upis, I kind of, cleanse my system withwarm waterIt’s not hot, just plain warm waterand before I have the warm water, I have4 drops of noni juice,the concentrated noni juice, and itreally gives me a lot of strength in themorning, to cope with all the crazy stuffthat I do the rest of the dayAnd the other very important thing thatI do as a ritualEvery morning is oil pulling, so I takeat least 2 tablespoons of coconut oil,cold-pressed coconut oil, and I basically,roll it around my mouth, between my teethIt looks really funnySo, I do this for like a good7 to 10 minutesThey say you should do it for 20 minutes,but, you know, with our fast-paced lives,if I get in like 10 minutes, I am like,Yay!So, everybody knows, I swear by Yoga,and yes, I have started doing a lot ofdifferent workouts that have been inspiredby Yoga as well. . So I’m a fitness freakYou can actually call me a freak now, yeah,self-confessed fitness freak, but I don’tdo it to lose weight, or I don’t do it to,umm. . prove a point to myself. . Most people think that you have to contortyour body into different pretzelic formsto do Yoga, but I don’t. . There are a lot of asanas that I’m stillsurprised with, and I’m kind ofrediscovering my inner strength, and myflexibility, with doing it over a periodof timeSo no, you don’t have to be an expertcontortionist to do Yoga, so I do a lotof workout regimes that help me with thatso it’s a mixture of high-intensity,you know, interval training, there iscore-strengthening, I love doing planks,different kinds of that, I enjoy burpeesI know it’s crazy, like who can enjoy burpeesI enjoy these animal walks, so it’s notone kind of training, it’s an amalgam ofa lot of stuff, yeah. . So, I discovered Yoga around 17 years ago,when I was injuredI had injured my neck, and my physio hadtold me to start doing Yoga to strengthen itAnd I had a Yoga teacher to come home andteach me, and then I went on to, umm,learn much more about Yoga, I realizedit wasn’t just great for strengthening aninjured part, and rehabilitation, but alsogreat to, kind of, tone your body,and as I kept learning more and more aboutYoga, I realised, It was not just for yourbody, but also, for your mind. . So, I think we all need help in that area So, I started off with Ashtanga today,I do Vinyasa, the Bihar School of Yoga,I’ve tried all different kinds of Yoga forms,but what I would tell people, is that,it doesn’t matter what form you’re doing,try and keep to the basics of inhaling andexhaling throughout the asanas, and that’swhat will affect and oxygenate your muscles,rejuvenate your mind and your body, andthat’s what is important. So, I get time in the mornings becauseI have a son, and he goes to school,and there are many a times that I’m alsoinundated with work in the mornings,you know, if I’m shooting, umm, so then Itry, saying that I will compensate forthe next day, so, it doesn’t matteras long as you are not, umm,they say Yoga is preferably to be done onan empty stomach, or you can have maybe,warm water, or a cup of tea. . Some people who are addicted to tea, oryou know, a small piece of banana,that’s about it. . You can’t go on a heavystomach and start doing Yoga, so even ifyou do eat, try and maintain a two and a halfhour gap, and then do YogaSo, it can be in the afternoon,mid-afternoon, after your lunchThey say working out, even in the eveningsis great, you knowSo, it gives you a boost of energy, and umm,I prefer to do it in the morning, so. . So my day is pretty simple, and I eatlike people used to eat 70 years ago,which means, my mornings start at 7 inthe morning. . I try to get my breakfast inbetween 7 and. . 7. 30 and 8, and it’s avery high fiber breakfast, so it’ll beeither oats, or muesli, coupled with fruitsI start off with a raw food, so i’s eithera banana, or grated apple, blueberries,in my muesli, and umm, I try to keep itlow sugar, so I would. . I prefer to usenatural forms of sweeteners like honey, orpowdered jaggery, that is very readilyavailable in the marketNow the newest form of sugar is coconut sugarEven that’s great for your oatsSo that’s my breakfast, that’s if it’s avegetarian day. . If my morning startsearlier than that, then I start off withthis simple smoothie, which is, umm,a mixture of almond milk, and banana,and raw oats and honey, and I can addwhatever fruit I want into it, so, that’son-the-go, and then I have 2 eggsSo, if I start very early in the morning,there are basically two breakfastsSo then I have 2 eggs around 10-10. 30 witheither avocado. . raw avocado, and maybe awhole wheat toast with butter. . “WITH” butterand then I have my tea, again withcoconut sugarSo I try and avoid all kinds of sweeteners,and, umm, I like to keep it natural and clean. My afternoon meal is my heaviest mealactually,and it comprises of either brown rice,white rice, whatever is available, umm,there’s a chicken or a fish, some kind ofprotein, and, I like my vegetables,so there’s vegetables, and I have my saladis very very simple, it’s just cucumberand carrot with a bit ofsea salt on it, so it’s nothing fancyThen there’s sometimes, I may bealternate my heavy lunch, with like a,Yogi bowl, and that’s what I call itSo in that one bowl I basically put-ineverythingI’ll put in salad leaves, I’ll put in barleyor you know, rice. . brown rice, and I’ll addsome chicken bits, grilled chicken, I’lladd beetroot, so it’s like a salad, cumfood, cum everything, all-in-oneAnd the very important thing that I forgotto mention that I try to get in a spoonof ghee into my lunch anyhowWhen I say a spoon, it’s like, a tablespoonSo yeah, I have a tablespoon of ghee everyday with my lunchSo whether it be in my roti, I also likemy parathas sometimes, so if it’s parathaand sabzi and dal and chicken, I even havethat, so I like that. . Then comes my snack, which is like a mid-mealA thing that I likeI don’t like to keep too much gap inbetween my food, I mean between my lunchand my teaSo, my mid-meal would be just maybe 2 eggsor, umm, a sandwich with beetroot andcucumber, and potato. . I love boiledpotatoes, just sliced, and a bit ofchaat masala, and make it into a sandwichand just bite it. . it’s yum!And that just keeps you from gettingpeckish before dinnerThen I have my tea in the evening, and,umm, around 7-7. 30 with my son7. 30 to 8, my son, my husband and I sittogether, and we have our dinnerSo that’s my last meal, which is a verylight,fairly lighter meal than the rest of thedayI like a soup. . It can be veg, chicken,whateverand I don’t eat anything raw, I prefernot to eat anything rawSo most people have salads in the nightwhich is not a concept that I believe inI have something, umm, grilled, oreven if it’s a vegetable, dal, whateverI try to keep it low-carb at night, I tryBut then, if I feel like having amushroom hotpot rice, I’ll have thatSo there is no hard and fast ruleSo that’s my day basically, and if I feelI’m craving for something sweet, I have apiece of chikki after lunchSo that’s my biggest rule!When you have a child, you have to be anearly riserI love Indian food, and I also love Chinese and Japanese. . I’m a foodie!See, that’s a really interesting questionNow because I belong to the beautybusinessor maybe, the “body business”We have to take care of how. . how we look,and, umm, people can be judgemental, and Itotally get itBut I don’t make too many changes, becauseI’ve already made a big lifestyle changeI don’t eat after 7. 30 in the evening,I eat very healthy, clean food, soI have a clean diet, so I don’t have tomake too many changes if I’m walking thered carpet,or I’m showing my stomach, yes obviouslyto look more chiseled, like to havewashboard abs and to look flat,you have to make sure that you eat a lotof high fiber, high protein, and makingsure that maybe the previous day you don’thave carbs, so, it’s very low-carb theprevious day, if I’m showing my abs. . My favourite cheat meal, oh my god I lovedeserts!And I love. . I love Biryani!I love lamb BiryaniI love, umm, I love roshogolla!And I love rabdi and hot jalebis. . it’s myabsolute favorite!And, umm, yeah yeah, I can give you a long list!I’ve seen people try itI think it works a lot for a lot of peopleIt’s a very hard diet to do – The KetoThe Keto diet, where you’re eating high amounts of fathigh amount of, actually, adequate proteinhigh fat,and no carbs, no sugar, no fruitsSo I’m like. . what are we gonna do It’s scary. . so I mean, I would suggestsomething like that to maybe someone who’sa body-builder, who has maybe letthemselves go for some timeand then need to shred, so, you know, itworks really great for themBut there are some people who barely havelike 3 kilos to lose and they are on KetodietsAnd it makes you very crotchety, it makesyou very angrybecause your body and your mind is notgetting what it wants, so, umm, I don’tknow,I find it very strange, so yeah. .
