Taika Waititi slams Apple’s MacBook keyboards after profitable first Oscar – The Verge

Talking with journalists after winning his first Oscar for Greatest Tailored Screenplay, Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi had different issues on his thoughts. When requested what he thought writers must be demanding within the subsequent spherical of discussions with producers, Waititi put Apple’s controversial laptop computer keyboards on blast.

“Apple needs to fix those keyboards,” he stated. “They are impossible to write on — they’ve gotten worse. It makes me want to go back to PCs. Because PC keyboards, the bounce-back for your fingers is way better. Hands up who still uses a PC? You know what I’m talking about. It’s a way better keyboard. Those Apple keyboards are horrendous.”

“I’ve got some shoulder problems,” Waititi continued. “I’ve obtained OOS [Occupational Overuse Syndrome, a term used in New Zealand for RSI] — I don’t know what you name it over right here, this kind of factor right here (gestures to arm), that tendon which fits down your forearm down into the thumb? what I’m speaking about, if you happen to guys are ever writing. And what occurs is you open the laptop computer and you are like this (makes uncomfortable hunched-over-laptop pose) — we’ve simply obtained to repair these keyboards. The WGA must step in and really do one thing.”

It’s unclear whether or not Waititi has used Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro, which replaces the unreliable and shallow “butterfly” keyboard with a brand new design that, by all accounts, is extra snug to kind on. However the butterfly keyboards have been delivery in laptops for practically 5 years now, so hopefully Apple will get the message and kills them off as soon as and for all in 2020.
